Shipping

Do you ship overseas?

Yes, we ship all over the world. Shipping costs will apply and will be added at checkout. We run discounts and promotions occasionally, so signup to the newsletter for exclusive deals.

Do you ship to APO, FPO and DPO addresses?

Yes, however shipping to APO/FPO/DPO addresses is possible with the USPS only. To ship to these addresses, you will need to provide the recipient's name, rank, and unit, and the APO/FPO/DPO address with ZIP Code. To prevent mail from entering foreign mail networks, do not include city or country names in APO/FPO/DPO shipping addresses. Below is an example of a properly addressed APO shipment:

Is a tracking number provided with my order?

Yes. An email or text message is automatically generated when we ship your order. The email or text message is sent to the email address or phone number you provided when you placed your order. If you provided incorrect information, you will not receive the tracking number.

How long will it take to get my order?

Orders are processed and shipped the same day. Depending on where you are located and the shipping method selected, it could take 1-5 business days for your order to arrive. Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 5-15 days. Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email.

What shipping carriers do you use?

We use USPS, UPS, and DHL to ship across the US and worldwide. You’ll be asked to select a delivery method during checkout. Local customers within the Twin Cities have the option local same-day delivery on orders placed before 3 pm central.

Can I ship to a different address other than my billing address?

Yes. You will be asked for your billing address and your shipping address (if different). We use your billing address for credit card processing and verification. If you provide a separate shipping address, your order will ship to that address.

Can I return my product?

We always aim to make sure our customers love our products, but if you do need to return an item, we’re happy to help. Please see our shipping policy page

How do I cancel an order?

Please see our shipping policy page and scroll to the order cancellation section of the page for details.

Will I need to sign for my package?

No, not typically. The driver will leave the package unless there have been a high number of claims in your area.

By special request, we can send your order with “signature required” with an additional fee charged/collected for this service.

Hobbs Flyer assumes no liability for missing or lost packages once delivered to the shipping address given at the time the order was placed. In addition, Hobbs Flyer, USPS, DHL and UPS cannot be held responsible for issues that are the result of incorrect and/or incomplete shipping address information provided by the purchaser.

Does free shipping apply to international orders?

No. Free shipping is limited to US shipments only.

What are the shipping rates for International destinations?

Shipping rates for Canada, Mexico & other International destinations will vary.

International customers can calculate their shipping by using the online shopping cart. Once you add an item to cart and proceed to the shipping page, you will see the shipping options and rates for international shipping.

The shipping rates quoted are determined by each carrier (USPS, UPS, DHL) and are determined by a combination of product weight, product dimensions and the shipping destination. Hobbs Flyer is not responsible for any additional duties, taxes, brokerage fees, or tariffs.

Hobbs Flyer cannot be held responsible for damaged packages.

Hobbs Flyer will NOT modify the invoice with a lower value for customs clearance. Please note that we do not include the invoice within the parcel. The invoice showing the item price will be sent to you directly via email as part of the order confirmation. We include a packing slip in the box but the price is not shown on the packing slip.

Can I split payment between two cards?

Yes, you can split payment for your purchase across two cards. Contact us to learn more and to get started.

Do you offer volume discounts for Flight Schools?

Yes, we offer volume discounts on Hobbs Flyer H2 brand aviation headsets. Orders of 5 or more headsets qualify for a 15% volume discount. Feel free to get in touch with us and we'll be able to help you out.

Do you have headsets with U174 helicopter plug?

Yes, by special request. We also offer a GA twin plug to single plug helicopter adapter as an option. The adapter will allow you to convert your twin plug headset to a single plug helicopter headset so you can use it in both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters. The adapter can be found here.

How can I sign up for your newsletter to get the discount?

Simply enter your email in the sign-up form at the bottom of this page, and you’ll be added to our mailing list. You’ll be sent updates, exclusive offers, and much more.

Can I get the book autographed with a personal message?

Yes. Please contact us immediately with your order number and the message that you would like the author to include. Please limit your personalized message to no more than 10 words.

Can I receive a check or money order for selling you my headset?

No. Please see the headset buyback program page for more information. PayPal is the only form of payment we use as part of the buyback program. We will NOT use Western Union, MoneyGram, wire, check, cash nor postal money order to send money. If you cannot accept your payment via PayPal, we will not be able to buy your headset from you.

Technical

I can only hear on one side with my headset. What's the problem?

You will need to change the audio settings on the control module to MONO mode rather than STEREO mode. The H2 supports both Stereo & Mono intercom systems. If your aircraft intercom is MONO and you have the H2 set to STEREO, you will only hear on one side.

Can I connect the H2 headset to multiple Bluetooth devices?

Yes, the H2 Active aviation headset may be paired to multiple Bluetooth devices. For example you can pair your headset to an iPhone and an iPad and switch between devices. Additionally, you may simultaneously connect the H2 to Bluetooth and an AUX audio source at the same time.

The included demo battery did not last long. What batteries should I use?

We ship all of our ANR headsets with a set of demo batteries to get you flying quickly. You should experience approximately 20 hours of battery life from alkaline batteries with typical general aviation aircraft noise. Battery duration may vary with battery age, ambient noise levels, temperature, and use of the AUX and Bluetooth features. If the ANR powers down unexpectedly or the light flashes red or amber, this is an indication that the batteries should be replaced. Adding a fresh set of Energizer AA batteries will resolve this issue. We recommend Energizer as we've gotten the best performance from the Energizer brand.

What are PJ-055 / PJ-068 plugs? Will they work in a Cessna C172?

PJ-055 / PJ-068 plugs are standard general aviation twin plugs found on most general aviation headsets. The PJ-055 provides audio to the ear cups and the PJ-068 is for your microphone. These plugs will work in almost all civilian and commercial airplanes.

Can I convert my low impedance Bose A20 to high impedance?

Yes. You will need to replace the current low impedance microphone on your A20 with a Bose OEM high impedance microphone. Instructions can be found by reading our blog post covering this topic.

What's the difference between the H2 Active and H2 Passive headsets?

The H2 Active includes active noise reduction and Bluetooth*. The H2 Passive does not include Bluetooth and uses passive noise reduction. No batteries are required for the H2 Passive.

My H2 Active shuts off unexpectedly. How do I resolve the issue?

Solution 1:

Turn off the “Auto-shutoff” function. The switch is located inside the battery box. See figure 11 in the photo below. The H2 ANR tries to conserve battery by shutting down if no signal is received for a period of time. Turning off the Auto-shutoff function will prevent the ANR function from turning off.

Solution 2:

We ship all of our ANR headsets with a set of demo batteries to get you flying quickly. If the ANR powers down unexpectedly or the battery indicator light flashes red or amber, this is an indication that the batteries should be replaced. Adding a fresh set of Energizer AA batteries will resolve this issue. We recommend Energizer as we've seen the best performance from Energizer brand batteries.

Will your 6-PIN LEMO adapter convert MSA Sordin headsets to U174?

No, the Lemo 6-PIN adapter will not convert the half moon connector found on MSA Sordin military communications headsets to NATO TP120 / U174 / Helicopter plug.

What are the system requirements for the Gleim study software?

Gleim Test Prep Online is compatible with all operating systems since it is online based. There are just a few basic requirements to run the software such including: Adobe Reader version 9 or later, Cookies must be enabled, JavaScript, and a web browser such as Edge, Chrome, or Safari.

What Plugs Are Used in Boeing 737?

Most 737 aircraft in the US use standard GA twin plugs. There are 737's that use different plug types such as XLR but It really depends on what options were selected by the airline when the aircraft was ordered. You will need to verify what plugs are required for the specific aircraft that you will be flying. We have Aviation Headset Adapters for most plug types so you will be able to use your headset in the 737 regardless of type of plug on your headset.
